Thankful heart.

We had to cancel our 10 year old website and was a bit sad.  Dave Williams kindness flowed from his heart and created us our own.  So, now we officially have the domain name...

Amazing!  The blog is there as well, so see you there.

Love,
Ella Embree

SLOVO
THIS SUNDAY

It has been a bit of awaiting game, for the Evangelical Bible Church to see if they want to continue this ministry.  We are pumped to see that the elders/deacons want to be a witness to these wonderful children.  I need prayer as the direction to take for the next 8 weeks.  Please pray with me.

Praise:  We have a new venue where there is chairs, electricity, and toilets.
Praise:  Jess Case and Dave Williams will be help with the teaching and worship!

Prayer:  Selma (in the middle) as her health is poor.  (she has been my translator for the preschoolers!)

Pain and No-pain
I awoke with a sharp pain in my right lower abdomen at 5 am.  Two previous times I had the same pain and they guessed it was a bladder infection (even though it didn't feel like it).  So, I assumed the same.  James carried me to the car. So, Jess ran me to the emergency room.  After the test came back negative for the bladder infection, they wanted to do Ultrasound/blood work.  I agreed even after my pain went from a 9.5 to a 1.  The doctor wanted to find out.  During the ultrasound, a 6mm abnormal cyst was found on my right ovary.  UGH.  Down to the female doctor, she decided to take the conservative approach and take drugs to reduce it.  But, it is unlikely.  Pray.  I hate needles and hospitals and anything medicine.  If it is not reduced surgery is the only other option.

This week studying Paul's thorn in the flesh, I kept asking myself "What kind of trial or hardship am I enduring?"  Thanks God I will pray and find your joy in the midst of this thorn.

God's Word
It has been the thing I have loved so much when I first gave my heart to Jesus.  But, it still is today!  I am hosting a Bible Study of Daniel by Beth Moore.   Last night, it was amazing to see and hear the accuracy of prophesy from Daniel Chapter 9!

I also love being with other God fearing woman, Jess Case, Tracy Cox and Mary Hawkins.  Thank God for Monday Nights!

"Those who think missionaries are "Super saints" probably don't know any very well." by Janice Lemke

I just loved that quote from the book "Five loaves and Two Bowls of Borscht". Thankfully, I have another mentor women (Luanne pictured on the left) in my life who models Christ for me and challenges me. We meet about every 3 weeks. She heard about this book from a ladies retreat that I didn't attend (prior commitments). Tomorrow we meet and pray with each other this time at her house. When we meet at my home, I usually end up with 8 or more children running around. This time, pizza is on the table and I am heading to her home.

Thanks be to God who cares enough to have people care for me.

Kitchen Tea
Today, I was honored to attend my first kitchen tea for my friend Danielle. My two girls will be in her wedding on the 10th of October. The venue was breathtaking. Thankfully, our friends the Morgans were there and we had a great time talking, eating, and trying new things. I guess since we were at such a nice place, they didn't do all the traditional stuff- But at the end, if she didn't guess what the gift was before she opened it, the giver of the gift could make her look silly by doing something CRAZY.
1) lipstick on the cheek
2) flour in your hair with cream!
3) eye liner around the face
4) curlers
5) flour and water in her socks!
But by far the worse was raw egg cracked on her chest! I guess it is something she will remember for the rest of her life.

I think I recall that the people at my bridal shower made me wear a hat for 1 minute with bows on a plate. But, I can't remember that far back.

I was told that if this tea was at a persons home, they would of dragged the bride to be out into the streets or mall and make her beg people for money. Crazy. But, South Africans love to celebrate!

Joy in Discipling

On Friday afternoon, Jess and I get the privledge of looking into God's Word with three beautiful women. It has been a joy to teach them about God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and the Bible. They are new believers and have so many interesting questions.

I challenge you (whoever reads this) to disciple someone. I gave my heart to Jesus in 1995 and about a year later I began this discipling journey. It is a command in Scripture. Please help another person in Christ to understand and grow.
